WHAT IS LEADLIGHT?
Leadlight is a digital and print magazine made up of many lenses. It is a patchwork of perspectives, providing a space for voices on art, science, culture, and philosophy to live side by side.
Each story represents a fragment of humanity navigating what it means to live, through whatever means or medium necessary.
This is a magazine focused on 'seeing', in looking both out and in, in shattering and reassembling how we see the world and ourselves.

Leadlight is created and published on the sovereign land of the Gadigal People of the Eora Nation. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, as well as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members of our creative community. The practice of storytelling has been an essential part of Indigenous culture for millenia, as First Nations’ histories, educational stories, and stories of country, creation and tradition have been passed down through generations.
As this magazine weaves together our own collection of stories and philosophies, we acknowledge the powerful role of this tradition, creating a safe space for a diversity of perspectives to be heard and explored. We are committed to a practice of storytelling that stands in solidarity with First Nations’ efforts towards decolonisation, acknowledging the historical and continued silencing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives.
Sovereignty was never ceded. Always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
